Hey folks, I have been playing around with the idea of being public about my GHSV2(&1 I think?) on Tinder. Does anyone have any experience with it? Insight from any gender would be greatly appreciated, but I’m particularly interested in hearing from a guy in the audience (reason = I am a dude myself, and men and women have vastly different experiences in the dating scene). I am aware of MPWH and Positive Singles and all that, but I don’t like paywalls - and I find those sites to be far less appealing/user-friendly. Also the idea of having the cajones to publicly adopt this silly little disease is pretty compelling. Feel free to private message me if you have experience with this and are a lurker and don’t want to be public on here! EDIT: Wow, great info guys! Thank you so much for all of your awesome responses! Very positive stuff here!

27 M GSHV1 OHIO Im guessing this may have already been discussed if so I’d appreciate being pointed in that direction. Anyway I have been trying out some positive dating apps and sites and im finding that you need to pay for premium to really get anywhere. Any recommendations? Has anyone tried premium for MPWH or any other sites, and is it worth it? Thanks!

I used to kick around MPWH (meet people with herpes). I left it for a couple years, and after coming back, it looks like it's just another money making website now. Kinda like positive singles, etc. Has anyone had any dating experience with those month to month subscription dating sites? I also used to use meetup and found a couple groups on there. There's a semi active community in the atx area (Austin TX). I would definitely like to find a large Facebook community that's very active or a community near Richmond VA since I just moved here. Any recommendations are appreciated. Cheers!

Basics: I'm a male w/ genital herpes (unknown type) I'm in great shape and attractive I'm in my early 30s I'm very picky when it comes to women I'll date I tried mpwh.com (free account) and positivesingles.com (paid account). MPWH.com seemed good because it only has those with herpes. The problem with it and why I chose positivesingles.com for a paid account was there were much more people in my area that were on positivesingles (filtered for herpes). With that said, I got a few numbers from my free account on MPWH. I texted for a while, but, as I mentioned I'm picky so I decided to stop. I got numerous numbers from positivesingles.com probably because I was able to initiate more. There are two or three women who I would consider dating, but I feel as though the connections made were weak. These very attractive women have a ton of options and even though I'm attractive, make good money, own a home, am fun to chat with, so are some other guys. In the end, I let my account expire without going on any dates. Part of this is my choosing and being picky. I definitely could have gone on many dates with various women. The other part is competition is fierce when it comes to attractive women. I used to be able to date most girls I was interested in before this. Maybe it's due to the nature of interaction - online vs in person that is reducing my success. My conclusion is these sites could work, but require money and patience. I don't have much patience as it takes a lot of energy to chat back and fourth etc. I'm not sure what I'll do now. I heard that okcupid has a filter or a question or something around herpes. The problem with this is it's more public. It would be fun to try Tinder, but there's no way around having the talk and letting someone know I have a shitty STD - even if it was an ex who got tested and lied about results. If you have questions feel free to ask.
2016.04.22 19:20 Ih8herpesExtremely careful. Lied to. Infected. Now what?!
I'm a male in my 30's and have always been extremely careful who I slept with. Always wore condoms and if I was having a long term relationship would make sure the woman I was with and I got tested for all STDs. My ex said she got tested for everything, but I got infected with HSV-2. I have a few questions. 1) Has anyone successfully sued for this (I'm in California)? What is that process like? 2) I refuse to take any drugs for this because I don't want side effects. My diet is very healthy already, and I already know about Lysine. Is there anything else I should supplement with? I only want things backed by clinical studies. 3) I've read about some shitty vaccines being worked on with only around 50% efficacy. Is there one I'm missing -- Is there any hope? I know about CRISPR, but that still seems far off. 4) It sucks having blisters on my dick. It's not the end of the world, but there's a reason this has a stigma and why I was careful to steer clear of this bullshit. Now I have it. Now what? I have to tell women before I sleep with them? To be clear, I refuse to infect anyone with this. Herpes (at least the specific fuckers I have are dying with this host). Anyway, if a women told me she had this back when I wasn't infected, I would have said, "no, thanks." I wouldn't be an asshole about it but even if I was really in love; I would (be very sad but) bounce. This leaves me with 1/5 of the dating pool and what's worse, that 1/5th don't all know they have this shit. So less than 1/5th. I've looked at positivesingles and mpwh websites. Honestly, very very few women on there I find attractive and I don't even know if those are real or just fake profiles. Has anyone had experience with these sites? Should I choose one over the other? Thanks. EDIT: Here is what I'm looking into as far as supplements go... Maybe this will help others: Lysine (shown to be effective) Glutamine (may or may not be effective, but has other health benefits) Eleuthero (shown to be effective) Chlorophyll (may or may not be effective, but has other health benefits) Curcumin (effective for HSV-1 and likely HSV-2 (see results)) Garlic (may or may not be effective, but has other health benefits) Cannabis (may be effective / needs more studies) Most of these can be found on Amazon. Hoping I'm missing some more. EDIT #2: In CA you can sue for herpes if they knowingly gave it to you or not. There's a 2 year statute of limitations from when you found out. You can sue for previous and future damages. You can sue anonymously. There are attorneys available specifically for STD infections. Other states are different.
